Movies that would make good prequels.

Bridget Jones: Yes I am aware we have Bridget Jones Baby but it'd be interesting to see a prequel where she's reached her 20s, moved out of home and applying for jobs before she gets her official job. Plus it would be interesting to watch younger versions of Daniel Cleaver and Mark Darcy.

So what is one movie that you think might work quite well as a prequel?

Actors/actresses who I would like to see do another movie together.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Djimon Honsou (Blood Diamond) It would be awesome to see these two
re-team!

James McAvoy and Forest Whitaker (Last King Of Scotland) again it would be great to see these two team up again.

Meryl Streep and Renee Zellweger (One True Thing) it has been two decades since Meryl worked with Renee. Would love a reteam in the future!

Denzel Washington and Julia Roberts (Pelican Brief) Been over 20 years since these two worked together. A re-team absolutely needs to happen!!

Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds (The Proposal) it would be fun to see them re-team in a movie

Sandra Bullock and Ryan Gosling (Murder By Numbers) again it would be fantastic to see them re-team.

Uma Thurman and Meryl Streep (Prime) It would be amazing to see these two team up again :)

James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman (Wanted) Would be great to see them re-team and probably in another genre haha.

In brackets is what they originally starred in.

So there you have it. These would be so great to see happen!

Ever seen a movie where the film is good, the acting is great but the script is not good writing and you really find it hard to believe the actors having to have such a predictable and boring script. I like scripts that throw a curveball. You think it's going to go one way then it doesn't go the way you think it is going to go.

just a random one again. might be interesting haha.

So maybe the worst screenplays you remember in movies and what kind of scripts do you like.

I just watched Mean Creek on DVD.

Mean Creek is a 2004 coming of age drama about a group of teens who are sick of being picked on by a bully so they take the bully out for a boat ride but things go horribly wrong. If you see this for one performance, it should be for Josh Peck who is known for Drake and Josh. This is a big departure for him. He delivers a stunning performance as a bully who is extremely misunderstood. I must warn there is swearing. I also really enjoyed the other actors in the film especially Rory Culkin and Carly Schroeder.

It does get a bit slow though. I look forward to the next film by this director. I know some people probably didn't really like this movie haha. So yeah, see the film for Josh Peck's performance.

Movie directing debuts I would like to see in the future.

Jesse Eisenberg: His offbeat humor would make for a great directing debut.

Vince Vaughn: I can see Vince doing a good job on his directorial debut.

Sigourney Weaver - would bring a lot of experience to her directing debut.

Tobey Maguire: I think he'd be very good.

Amy Adams. Would be fun to see her have a go.

Steve Carell - he'd be quite interesting.

Tom Cruise - would be fun.

Uma Thurman - would be very interesting to watch.

Paul Rudd - he would definitely be experienced enough to direct a comedy.

Zach Galifianakis - he would be very interesting to see a debut from.

Melissa McCarthy - would be interesting to see a debut from her in the future.

Kate Winslet I look forward to seeing her debut in future.

Dave Franco would be good as well - to see him follow in the footsteps of his older brother.

Freddie Highmore - I mean why not? If he wants to retire from acting directing could be a possibility.

Will Ferrell - he'd be an interesting one to see.

Mark Wahlberg - would be awesome!

Honorable Mentions: Bruce Willis, Samuel L Jackson, Owen Wilson, Anthony Mackie Terrence Howard Leonardo DiCaprio Michael Fassbender James McAvoy.

when they show the clip for the performance and 'Really? They chose THAT?'

Benedict Cumberbatch Imitation Game
What they chose: Decoding
What I would have chosen: either 'am I a man or a machine' or telling Joan that he is gay.
Why: I feel like Decoding is just a dull clip. Either one of these two would have been excellent clips.

Felicity Jones Theory of Everything
What they chose: Fight it together
I would have chosen: Jane telling the doctor he'll survive or the quantum physics scene.
Why: Gives Felicity more range.

Reese Witherspoon Walk the Line
What they chose: Time's A Wastin'
I would have chosen: throwing the objects at the band
Why: Because 'Times A Wasting does absolutely nothing for the movie. If they had chosen throwing the objects it would feature her more!

Rachel McAdams Spotlight
What they chose: the door interview
I would have picked 'we are here because we care'
Why: Gave away a big twist.

Will Smith The Pursuit of Happyness
What they chose: This was my spot!
I would have chosen when he is talking to his son about dinosaurs
Why: I have often been baffled by this clip selection.

Keira Knightley Pride and Prejudice
What they showed: Do you deny it Mr. Darcy
What I would have picked: Standing up to Lady Catherine near the end.
Why: Do you deny it Mr Darcy just leaves me a little bored. Standing up to Lady Catherine shows a lot more range.

I know this is the strangest post I have done yet but I can think of lots of others where the Academy just left people scratching their heads over why on earth they chose that clip to represent the actor!!  Anyone have any other suggestions of past Oscar clips where they just chose the strangest clips to represent the actor/actress (not that anyone will have any ideas haha)

After my ticket said Cinema 3 and it was actually Cinema 2 (annoys me so much, frustrating and a waste of time) I sat down to watch Ben Hur. There were some very good actors especially Jack Huston and Toby Kebbell. I really liked some of the directing choices like when Judah is racing and the camera goes underneath it. My only problem with this film was the amount of violence it had. Some may have been needed but some of it wasn't needed. I got to a point where I wasn't sure how much more of it I could take during the rowing sequence.

Ben Hur 6/10. With Jack Huston Toby Kebbell and Morgan Freeman.

the late Alan Rickman because he was always so fun to watch
Helen Mirren because she is just a great actress
Judi Dench because she's a fab actress
Dev Patel - amazing in Slumdog and Chappie and also great on Skins
Meryl Streep because she's a legend
Maggie Smith - always good to watch
Will Poulter so good in Maze Runner and We're the Millers.

too many other people to list.

Here is a question I am sure some people can answer. Have you ever seen a movie with actors that you like and felt embarrassed for the actors that they have to appear in such a dreadful film. I ask this because last year (or before) I saw Eddie Redmayne in Jupiter Ascending. I felt so bad for Eddie an amazing actor having to appear in such a film like that one.

So here is one of my favorite movies of all time, its a classic and its still great today:
